Pterry’s Surprise Birthday Party – Saturday

Shhhhh it's a surprise...

Hey bluggin’ dinos we’ve got an awesome event going down this Saturday, but we need your help! You may or may not know that Pterry’s Birthday was last Sunday, but we weren’t able to plan a party for him because of all the preparation for the MVAs Ceremony on Saturday. Pterry’s been pretty bummed all week, especially when I told him that we are throwing a party for international users on Friday and not for him. To make it up to him I told him he could throw a Quiz Party on Saturday… he has NO idea we’re going to surprise him!

Pterry’s going to throw his “Quiz Party” on Saturday at Jungle Beach, but he’ll be a little bit late. We need you all to show up and hide out over by Stretch’s Surf Shop, then when Pterry shows up we’ll all hop out and yell “SURPRISE!” and maybe throw a couple of bananas at him for good measure! Don’t miss out, it’s going to be a blast, everyone who attends will also receive a special birthday cake for their cave!

Hey gang, Daily Dino Fact coming at ya! The Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology recently produced a report concluding that three Metriorhynchids that existed from the Middle Jurassic to the Early Cretaceous were actually large, active hunters called hypercarnivores. To be classified as a hypercarnivores these Metriorhynchids (specifically Dakosaurus, Geosaurus and Torvoneustes) has to have a diet consisting of at least 70% meat. That’s a lot of meat!

The biggest of these sea dwelling meat-eaters, Dakosaurus, may have even been a better hunter than the T-Rex himself. The reason scientists think that the Dakosaurus was such an effective hunter is this ancient, finned, crocodile’s secret weapon, the death roll. These guys would take a big bite out of a large marine reptile, fish or cephalopod and repeatedly roll around in the water, inflicting more damage with each spin. Luckily for us, these terrifying Metriorhynchids are no longer patrolling the earth’s oceans… so it’s safe to go for a swim!

Hey Gang! We’ve had some awesome parties the last couple of Fridays, but have had some complaints from some of our international users about not being able to attend because of the late times of the parties in their time zones. To make up for this we’re going to have an awesome party this Friday at an earlier time. At 12 noon WST on Friday Pterry is going to be in the Voodoo Hideaway throwing an awesome international party. Bring your national pride and your need to get down and we’ll have an incredible time.

Pterry and I will definitely be there and there may be some other special guests dropping by. I’m also going to crank up the exchange rate (in honor of our international users) on Vine Swingin’ and Shoo Bug, so make sure you bring a bucket or a big bag to tote away all the coins you’re going to win. They’re going to be spitting out like toots out of Horns!

Game of the Week: Snowball Skirmish!!

Lucky Me-o, my all-time favorite game has been selected for the Game of the Week this week! COINcidence? Maybe not, but there were a couple of votes for Snowball Skirmish and I just couldn’t resist.

Most of you have already played Snowball Skirmish, but it’s a classic snowball fight… only with cannons, one-on-one, dino-a-dino. So find a partner and head on over to Webo Ridge for some intense snowball action just in time for fall.

Can’t find someone to challenge? Just look for Mio or another Moda and we’ll be happy to play against you. Not to mention scoop up some of the extra coins this game will be spitting out all week long!

Webosaurs MVA Reminder

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, but the time is finally almost upon us… As anyone who has been on Webosaurs Island recently surely knows, the Webosaurs MVAs are this Saturday! Hopefully you’ve either finished your videos or are putting the final touches on them now because Rex will now only be accepting them until the end of the day today. You can submit your videos on the Webosaurs Forum here, AND if you’re still making changes don’t forget to make those videos shine with new Dance Animations and Fossil Magic! I have a couple of killer ideas on how to include Fossil Magic myself, but they’re top secret.

Remember, there will be AMAZING trophies handed out to the best videos in several categories, so there will be more than one opportunity to take home this bad-boy.

Game of the Week: Dance Party!

How fast can you go?!

Well, it’s an old favorite on Webosaurs Island and it’s this week’s Game of the Week. We had votes for Dino Dig, Demo Derby and Dance Party and since Mods love to dance I decided to go with Dance Party.

Dance Party is located in Tonto Plateau, but you can also play by going to the Arcade Room. Make sure you bring a dance partner and see who is more accurate and has faster dino-feet… ehh.. claws. If you can’t find another dino to dance against just ask a mod and they’ll be happy to accept your challenge.

So get your dancing shoes on and head on over to Tonto Plateau and load up on coins all at the same time!

In this page I will show you fossil magic and how to use it!

That was the guide from Webosaurs.

Here are what you can do with fossil magic

You can gas someone

: You can put gas on someone

: You can make someone glow

: You can give people mojo (it makes you glow for a second when you get gifted mojo)

: Sheild Protects you from dinos using fossil magic on you (to turn it of click the shield button again)

: You can make someone small

: You can make someone grow

To use fossil magic you have to buy it

First go to Sanoran Sands on your map

Then you to the Fossil Magic Store

You can buy the magic moves by finding them on the walls :D

: You can buy mojo at the store or wherever you are using your fossil magic button

: Mojo gauge

When your mojo gauge runs out you won't be able to use fossil magic unless you buy more mojo or just wait your mojo comes back by itself but if you are a member it will come back faster :)

click a magic and then you get this aimer it looks the same as the one for the mystical banana power

just click the dino you want to use magic on and they will be changed to whatever you changed them to!

Chrisdog's Webosaurs Concert

Hey Dinos! Chrisdog is hosting a concert, and he put this on his CP blog:

Webosaurs is hosting the first ever Webosaurs Music Video Awards, for short MVAs. The two weeks leading up to the event will have tons of decorations, festivals, and special events, including one for our website and our viewers!

We will be hosting a concert on Webosaurs! Everyone who comes is encouraged to bring their band or dance to the music with friends! You can now buy dance animations in the Bluggin’ Beach Bunker in Jungle Beach to dance at the parties. Webosaurs has also launched new electronic music, so bring your guitars!

Don’t have a guitar? Don’t worry, all who attend our party will get a special edition MVA guitar free!

You can’t miss this concert party! Here are the details to know where and when you can find us on Webosaurs:

Date: This Saturday, September 24th.
Time: 11:00AM Pacific, 1:00PM Central, 2:00PM Eastern
Room: Sub Alpine Forest
Server: Jurassic

At the party, many players will be playing the piano by clicking the keys and playing your own tune! Dinos can make their own music videos on the island and submit them to win an MVA trophy and be announced at the awards ceremony on October 2nd. Awww yeah, we throwin’ a member’s party! This Friday Horns is going to be hosting a sick dance party at the Bluggin’ Beach Bunker with the crazy DJ Utah. You may have heard some of DJ Utah’s tracks already around the Island and he’ll be spinning a live mix for you and Horns.

Horns is a generous dude (sometimes), and will be giving out party lights to everyone who comes to the party! Check the picture above. These strobe lights will turn your cave into your very own club.

This game is all about chopping up some prehistoric logs. Press left and right back and forth as fast as you can to bust out some chops and beat your friends. This game is multiplayer so don’t forget to bring one along… or ask a mod to play with you!

Wood Chop can be found in the Sub Alpine Forest and will be giving out loads of coins all week. Have fun dinos!

Hello Webosaurs!,

As you probably know Webosaurs Gang had a petition to "Postpond Spike" and it worked Webosaurs postpond spike :( but now there was a new post on the Official Webosaurs Blog called Help us decide what to build next on the Island, it has a link on it that takes us to a poll on the Webosaurs Forum asking us this What improvements would you like to see on Webosaurs next? and one of the answer you could pick was Spike! You all know what that means! if we all vote for Spike he will be the next thing that will come out on Webosaurs Island so if we all vote for Spike he will come out! If you vote for Spike comment your Webosaurs name on this post and if Spike gets the most votes on the poll whoever commented here will get credit for making Spike come out a a special post on this blog.

I think that before it was a good time to postpond Spike but now is the time to get back to work on him. A while ago Rex said that the only reason that Spike is not out is because he has not been added to the games around webosaurs, now I know that that it is hard but some of the games you don't have to be a dino like Dino Match, Wood Chop, Zing-A-Rock and I think a few others. Just incase you forgot how bluggin' Spike is I put some pictures of him at the end of this post :D .

Webopallooza! – Saturday And Member Items Are Here

First for the party:

You might have heard the rumors swirling around Webosaurs Island that there’s going to be an epic party this Saturday to kick off the MVAs (There will be more information coming soon about the MVAs, but they are going to be Music Video Awards for videos that YOU DINOS make, so get your thinking caps on). Well, it’s true, there is going to be an epic party this Saturday. We knew we wanted to have a concert, there was just one problem… Everyone wanted to perform, Rexxy, Horns, Pterry and Stretch all wanted a piece of the spotlight and their own stage! So there was only one logical thing to do right? Build four stages, well, that’s exactly what we did. That’s right, come on down to Webosaurs Island on Saturday for Webo-pallooza the MVAs Kick-off party and see each of your four favorite characters rocking out in the Geyser, Sub Alpine Forest, Croc. Peninsula and Sonoran Sands.

Webopallooza is just the beginning. MVA decorations will be up all over Webosaurs Island for two weeks until the actual MVAs on October 2nd, it’s going to be a non-stop party, so

I hope you’re ready!
Oh waitttt, did I mention the sick giveaway item that you’ll get at the party? Oh, whoops, well that’s right everyone who comes to Webopallooza will receive this beautiful MVA guitar. Yee haw!

Today’s Daily Dino fact comes courtesy of a question by Optimas, “Out of all Dinos, who was the biggest to ever live?” While the definition of “biggest” is up to a certain amount of interpretation, it is generally safe to say that a Sauropod was the biggest. Argentinosaurus (translated to Argetina Lizard, named after the country in which it was found), is generally thought to be the heaviest dino, weighing over 100 tons. Another Sauropod, Sauroposeidon, was most certainly the tallest, but enough about Sauropod’s, today’s Daily Dino Fact is going to focus on a couple other, less-celebrated, dinos that could be considered the BIGGEST for other reasons.

That's no small Pterry!

The biggest Pterosaur was called Quetzalcoatlus and it had a wingspan of up to 45 feet, that’s more than 5 times bigger than a Bald Eagle! Check it out next to that sedan, I think I’d just take the bus if that guy was hanging out by my car. Seriously, that is one freaky, giant prehistoric bird! There is still some debate as to whether this bad-boy flew or walked around on two legs, but if it did get airborne it was by far the largest animal ever to take to the skies. Just remember if you see a giant flying shadow when you’re outside today, it’s probably just an airplane and not a Quetzalcoatlus sneak attack!

One of my all-time favorites won’t win any beauty contests, but the biggest Therapsid ever was called Moschops. Therapsid literally means, “mammal-like reptile,” and that’s exactly what the Moschops were, they mostly grazed on short vegetation like cows… but then had outward sprawling front limbs, like lizards or frogs. Weird. These guys did get a little feisty and are thought to have butted heads like mountain goats, so never stand between two Moschops!

I was looking on Duk's blog and I found something that was sad news JuiceKing left Real FX that means he will not be making stuff for Webosaurs what will you think this will do to the Webosaurs short videos who will make the voices? well here is what JuiceKing wrote on his blog!

Last Day at Reel FX

Yesterday was my last day at Reel FX in Dallas, Texas. I started working with them in 2004, one year after I graduated from Ringling College in Sarasota. Six years of dedicated service.
Work highlights include designing a TRL commercial for MTV, designing and animating on Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium title sequence, concepting for the beginning of the Disney's 'The Wild,' creating the Webosaurs.com world and characters, and creating the Gamestop Bunny and commercials.
My dream when I was a little kid was to animate on a Disney movie and to have my name in the credits. Through Reel FX, that dream was achieved with 'The Wild.'
And I got to goto work everyday for 6 years and play. And yell. And sing. And dance. And do everything but art, sometimes. And I'll never forget that.
I will miss all of my closest friends there-Kashar, Darnell, Bobbo, B-slabes, Rando for King, Inshanity, G-Love, Brother Maguire, Naddy Pockets, Neil Zedaka, Pipes and Stripes, White-O, BookDaddy, Ju Ju TC, JD McCoy, Kathy Bates, B-Lou, Ro-Bay, Quan, Peter T, Briles, Jacquesy HotPants, James Webs, LG Crumpler, Frankie P, Turkey Jis, Boom Boom Teagues, K-Bone, The Constant, E-D, The Commish, DR, Steve-O, Thiels, Apprentice Jenkins 1-12, and everyone else.
I've never given a nickname to someone I didn't like/hate.
I'll miss all of you but know our paths will cross again.
Which was always a weird saying to me. It's like we're shadowey figures in the dank streets of London, 'crossing paths' shrouded in darkness, eyes darting from side to side. I spot you and we awkwardly shake hands and wonder who's turn it is to buy the opium.
Looking forward to what's next.

So many of you have heard the rumblings…. the Webosaurs Music Video Awards (MVAs) are coming up very very soon. We don’t have any details to give out just yet, but we are making final tweaks to the new decorations!

As part of the decorations, we’d like to feature YOUR ART! We’ll be picking 10-15 pieces of fan art to display on a screen in the Island during the MVAs.

Your submissions must be:

* At least 300 pixels wide (rectangular shapes preferred or we might have to crop

* No copyright images

* Either in PNG or JPG format

* Submitted on THIS THREAD on the Webosaurs Forum as an attachment, not a link

We’d love to see some MVA related pictures, but you are free to do other things if you like. Here is a sample of what the MVA logo (besides the one above) looks like:

Monday again and another Game of the Week! Seems like there were varied requests this week, so we are going with Hit the Crocs! This game will be giving out some nice coinage all week long so you better hit it up.

Head to the Croc Peninsula to get in on this awesome game where you SMASH crocs in the head with a mallet! Sounds too violent? Nah, think of what the croc would do if you didn’t get to it first! Put those slimy lizards in their place and win some major coins!

Notice Regarding Spike and Upcoming Updates

Hello Dino Friends,

Recently a petition was posted on Sludge’s Webosaurs Blog, Webosaurs Gang. Simply stated, you have spoken out and expressed that you are less than satisfied with how updates have been rolling out recently. Mostly that Spike was released before he was fully available to the public. The petition has collected almost 50 signatures in support of the action.

As you know, we have been working extremely hard on cranking out some sick updates for you guys. As with all game development ventures, things don’t always go as planned and some items (like the forum) have been delayed as a result. We think our players are the best kids on the Earth, and we want to make sure that you are happy with everything that we give you.

You have spoken up, we have listened. Starting right now we are removing Spike from the site and will not bring him back until he is fully ready as a character for purchase and in the games. I do have a few announcements to follow up.

The Webosaurs Forum will be officially released this Tuesday.
Dance Animations will be available for purchase in the Bluggin’ Beach Bunker in a week. You will be able to use these for your MVA videos.
Blogosaurs will begin playtesting on Fossil Magic on Tuesday as well, with the hopes of releasing it to the site in the next two weeks (Check the Blogosaurs section of the Forum for more details.
That is just a taste of what we have coming up. New clothing items will be coming out in the near future, Webosaurs Badges will be released as soon as possible, and we have a few more things cooking up in the development kitchen as well!

Thank you for speaking up and telling us how you feel. Our number one commitment is to make sure that you guys are getting the content that you want. Let us know of anything else that is on your mind as well. We’re very excited for the release of the Forum on Tuesday and everything else we have in store.

This is a story of an Allosaurus found in North America. 95% of his Bones were found well preserved. But he died not even full-grown and the bones were found in the same position of which he had died in. He has Many Injuries and some were found even healing. One severe injury was a swollen foot, but overall he had 11 broken bones in total. Rib injuries were thought to have been made by the whip of a diplodocus’ tail, and yet he broke his tail by falling down. Ripped arms could have been cause by fighting a female Allosaur. Females are much large and more aggressive than males. But even though big Al too all these injures he got killed by a drought, dying next to a dried up river bed, but he could have died of starvation because the swollen toe would have ended his hunting days. He died just at the age of six, not even reaching adulthood. This was an extraordinary creature, but a sad story.
